With over thirty years' experience in building and guiding successful organizations—from startups to large enterprises—Gary founded GetToTheTop in 1998, recognizing early on the need for high ranking search presence for another business he was building at the time. Prior to starting GetToTheTop, he spent fourteen years in senior executive positions with high-tech companies in Washington and California.
Gary served for five years on the Board of Directors of the Washington Technology Industry Association (then known as WSA) and as its Vice Chairman for four years. He was named a semifinalist for the 1995 Pacific Northwest Inc. Magazine/Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award, and in 1998 received the Governor's Award for distinctive leadership in Washington State's software industry.
A published writer for many years, Gary conceived and edited the book Cracking the New Economy: Business Tools for the Entrepreneur (WSA, 2000), and co-authored, with acclaimed conservationist Dr. Jane Goodall, Harvest for Hope: A Guide to Mindful Eating (Warner Books, 2005), a rigorous look at how food is produced and consumed in Western society with practical strategies for promoting sustainable food choices. Gary is a member of The Authors Guild, PEN America, and The Manuscript Society.
